Modihive was founded in 2020 by CEO Ioannis Smanis in Thessaloniki, Greece. We are a small ambitious engineering team with great intents. Focusing on tech concepts and prototypes is the primary goal, while producing small scale prototypes for your ideas. Engineers from all disciplines – Computer, Electrical, Mechanical and Design, come together to create smart devices of any kind and concept.
Ioannis Smanis

Computer Engineer, MEng, MSc
With a 12-year strong experience and background in the full circle of conceptual design, prototyping, and industrializing solutions, Ioannis has implemented concepts such as smart devices and the IoT in the biomedical field. Some of his work has been undertaken for the Samsung Design Innovation Center, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and University of Massachusetts in the USA. He obtained his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Western Macedonia (Greece) and he has an MSc in Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, (USA).
